  In July 2017 I took a small lounge chair to the Little Furniture Shop to be reupholstered. The chair still had its original springs which were in good order and not in need of replacement. Mark asked if I’d like to have the springs replaced with a webbing base, he explained that he is a ‘belt and braces’ man. I declined this offer as I felt it was unnecessary. They very kindly got the chair reupholstered in the time that I asked them to. We were absolutely delighted with the standard of workmanship on the chair and it looked wonderful. For which we paid £456.85 in total. We got it home and immediately tested it, which is where the trouble started. The new seat cushion was too soft and slipped between the springs and the wooden frame of the chair at the front. On closer inspection we discovered that there hadn’t been a piece of fabric attached to the front and back of the frame, over the springs, which would also protect the cushion, which had been the case on the old original upholstery. When we contacted Mark and Heather they said that they couldn’t do this due to the construction of the chair. They didn’t offer to look again at the chair to see if the problem could be rectified. They gave us a piece of blue foam rubber to place under the cushion but that isn’t satisfactory and did not solve the problem. The chair was not fit for purpose so I took it to another company in Shrewsbury who said they couldn’t quite understand why the job wasn’t done properly in the first place. They did say, however, that the standard of the new upholstery was excellent. The second company have done a wonderful job of fixing the problem and charged us £85.00. I have contacted the shop asking them if they would consider reimbursing me but have not even received a reply. For this lack of after sales service I am afraid I cannot recommend this company.
